Brittany Howard and the Band’s Comeback

Alabama Shakes went on hiatus in 2018, so frontwoman Brittany Howard could pursue her solo career. Howard released her debut solo album Jaime in 2019 and followed it up with What Now in early 2024, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. During this time, she also launched a hardcore band, Kumite.

After reuniting in 2025, Alabama Shakes released "Another Life," their first original track in nearly a decade, recorded at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studios with longtime collaborator Shawn Everett.

Fans are now eager to hear whether Alabama Shakes will debut new songs during the upcoming tour. The band has also signed with Island Records, hinting at more music on the horizon.

Alabama Shakes’ return has generated buzz because of their rich mix of 1960s British rock, Southern soul and blues influences. After a surprise reunion show in Alabama in December 2025, fans have been sharing photos and clips from studio sessions, confirming the band is “working on some exciting stuff.”

With tickets already on sale, the Spring 2026 tour promises to be a highlight for both longtime fans and new listeners alike.
