Peacock's first teaser for The Five Star Weekend features Jennifer Garner as Hollis, a grieving widow hosting a transformative weekend with friends on Nantucket

The cast also features Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, Gemma Chan and D’Arcy Carden

The series premieres on July 9 and is adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s bestselling novel of the same name

Jennifer Garner is planning a weekend away with pals in the first trailer for The Five Star Weekend.

In the preview of the upcoming Peacock series, an adaptation of Elin Hilderbrand’s 2023 book of the same name, Garner, 54, takes the lead as Hollis. The grieving widow is on a journey to heal with the help of her closest friends, Dru-Ann (Regina Hall), Tatum (Chloë Sevigny), Gigi (Gemma Chan) and Brooke (D’Arcy Carden).

Hollis, the "famed cook and best-selling author," suffers a devastating loss before she "gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties, and one surprise fifth star,” per the show's official logline.

“Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed," the logline reads.

The teaser begins with Garner’s Hollis declaring that “this weekend is for the five of us — a weekend of five-star treatment.” At dinner, Hollis says that she “can’t believe” they are all together and admits, “I think I’m still in shock.”

When Tatum asks if she’s doing alright, however, Hollis deflects by going to get the whipped cream she claims she forgot to bring to the table. “She's definitely not okay,” Brooke tells the others.

“Nope,” Dru-Ann says before Tatum quips, “This weekend's gonna be a hoot.”

As Hollis embarks on a new chapter in her life in the clip, she acknowledges that she doesn't know "who I am" since her late husband Matthew died. “You know what I heard works for pain? Screw-top Pinot Grigio,” Tatum teases, prompting laughter from the women.

Elsewhere in the teaser, which is soundtracked by "Dreams" by The Cranberries, Gigi offers Hollis some advice of her own: “He’s gone, and now you have to live.”

“I am trying,” Hollis says through tears.

Things then take a turn when Brooke reveals that there are some things she's been keeping from Hollis. “Doesn't she deserve to know the truth, even if it would hurt?” Brooke asks Tatum and Dru-Ann.

At the same time, Hollis appears to find a new boyfriend, which brings up complicated feelings with her daughter Caroline (Harlow Jane).

“Enjoy your Golden Girls weekend,” Caroline angrily tells her mom before walking off.
