The movies of 2026 have got it all, from iconic Disney toys and Steven Spielberg aliens to Ghostface and Baby Yoda. Ooh, and don't forget Superman's party-girl cousin! Even Emily Brontë has a part to play this film year.
Marvel's biggest heroes are back in "Avengers: Doomsday" at Christmas, and we get to see Homer's epic like never before in Christopher Nolan's summer movie "The Odyssey." It doesn't get much more starry than this romantic dramedy. British museum director Charlie (Robert Pattinson) and American bookstore clerk Emma (Zendaya) are an enjoyably engaged couple heading into their wedding week, until information is revealed that throws their relationship into a tailspin and threatens the impending nuptials.
'The Super Mario Galaxy Movie' (April 3)
Luigi (voiced by Charlie Day) throws down with Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie) in the animated adventure sequel "The Super Mario Galaxy Movie."
The first "Super Mario" was one of 2023's biggest hits, so of course plumbers Mario (voiced by Chris Pratt) and Luigi (Charlie Day) are back for another animated adventure. This time, the video-game guys run afoul of new enemy Bowser Jr. (Benny Safdie), son of Bowser (Jack Black), and also meet space princess Rosalina (Brie Larson).
'Mother Mary' (April)
A pop star (Anne Hathaway, right) reunites with her estranged best friend and ex-costume designer (Michaela Coel) in the psychosexual thriller "Mother Mary."
Anne Hathaway stars – and sings! – in this psychosexual thriller as the title character, a pop-music icon prepping for a comeback show. Needing a dress, she reaches out to Sam (Michaela Coel), her estranged BFF and former costume designer, and the reunion opens old wounds while sparking a new reinvention.
'The Mandalorian and Grogu' (May 22)
The Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) and his little buddy Grogu hit the big screen in a new "Star Wars" movie, "The Mandalorian and Grogu."
Armored warrior Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his little buddy (aka Baby Yoda) hyperspace jump from Disney+ to the big screen. The "Star Wars" pair are enlisted to help the New Republic with pesky Imperial warlords, plus form an alliance with an ex-Rebel pilot (Sigourney Weaver) and get involved with Jabba the Hutt's son (Jeremy Allen White).

Spielberg has a good history when it comes to aliens and UFOs. ("E.T.," anyone?) So even though we don't know much at all about this mysterious sci-fi thriller, the film about us finding out we're not alone in the universe will probably be a banger, given that it stars Emily Blunt, Colin Firth, Josh O'Connor and Colman Domingo.
'Toy Story 5' (June 19)
Old-school toys Buzz (voiced by Tim Allen, second from right) and Woody (Tom Hanks) face new technology in the animated film "Toy Story 5."
Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks), Buzz (Tim Allen) and the gang return for the latest installment of Pixar's storied franchise, and this time they have to deal with a digital world. Fan-favorite toys face off with new technology in the playroom, including an antagonistic frog-themed smart tablet named Lilypad (Greta Lee).
'Supergirl' (June 26)
After debuting in "Superman," Milly Alcock reprises her role as the Man of Steel's party-girl cousin in the DC superhero movie "Supergirl."
After debuting in last summer's hit "Superman," the Man of Steel's cousin gets her own DC solo outing. With dog Krypto in tow, Kara Zor-El (Milly Alcock) heads out to spend her 23rd birthday getting drunk on an alien planet. There, she runs into a vengeful young girl (Eve Ridley) who needs the superheroine's help.
