LOS ANGELES — "Mission: Impossible" star Ving Rhames has been released from the hospital and is "already heading home" after experiencing a health scare, his representative told USA TODAY on April 29.

Brad Kramer, Rhames' manager, said in an email that the actor "feels fine" and that he spoke with him over the phone shortly after he was taken to the hospital. Rhames, according to Kramer, "sounded like every day Ving" and made "a humorous remark" while he was hospitalized.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed to USA TODAY that paramedics responded to a call on Wednesday, April 29, at about 1:40 p.m. local time involving a 66-year-old male in North Hollywood, California, and "treated and transported" him for medical care.

According to TMZ, which cited an unnamed eyewitness, the incident occurred while Rhames was eating with his family inside a restaurant on April 29. The media outlet first reported the news.

Kramer told USA TODAY that Rhames "may have been overheated."

A mainstay of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, Rhames has also performed in "Pulp Fiction," "Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2" and the "Call of Duty: WWII" video game, according to IMDB.
