"Let's party!" Fast Times at Ridgemont High not only launched careers but also helped redefine the coming-of-age movie.

Based on Cameron Crowe's eponymous book, Amy Heckerling's screen adaptation premiered on Aug. 13, 1982. It became an instant hit, earning more than $27 million globally at the box office, per Box Office Mojo.

The teen comedy follows a group of high school students as they navigate life in Southern California, including stoned surfer Jeff Spicoli (Sean Penn), underclassman Stacy Hamilton (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Stacy's popular older brother Brad Hamilton (Judge Reinhold).

In September 2020, the film was back on everyone's radar when Dane Cook hosted a star-studded table read of the script, which included exes Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston.

Penn went on to become an Oscar-winning actor, as did several of his former costars like Nicolas Cage and Forest Whitaker.

Here's what the cast of Fast Times at Ridgemont High has been up to since making "tasty waves."
