Willie Geist's daughter Lucie is home from college for the holidays ... and Willie looks thrilled.

On Dec. 22, the Sunday TODAY anchor shared a rare photo with 18-year-old Lucie at Madison Square Garden for a New York Knicks game. In his caption, Willie noted that it was "family night" and wrote, "It’s always a thrill to be a part of the magic at MSG."

Willie and wife Christina Geist have been on an emotional roller coaster this year watching Lucie graduate from high school and move away from home to attend college.

While appearing on TODAY With Jenna and Friends on Sept. 2, Willie said that he and Christina dropped Lucie off at college two weeks prior.

“Here’s my headline,” he said. “It’s gone much better than we thought it would.”

Christina seemed to feel the same way.

“As we walked away from campus and flew back home, we were proud, we were emotional, we were of course weepy. But, I just can’t call it sadness. I was honestly so surprised at myself. It was — I guess I’d call it — peace,” she wrote on Instagram on Aug. 18.

The Geist family had to learn a new rhythm in the fall. Willie joked with TODAY anchors (and dads) back in June that he, Christina and their teenage son George would have to figure out how to recalibrate living in their home as a family of three most of the time.

"She’s a great kid, and so we’re thrilled for her,” Willie said at the time. “But we’re a family of four. Somebody’s taken a tire off the car and you’ve got to figure out how to drive the car on three wheels, you know?”

Now that Lucie is home for winter break, the family had to adapt once again ... but this time they're driving on all four wheels.
